  • It was a lovely spring day for the Run for your Life 5k in Williamsburg, PA sponsor by the Careers in Health Club.  Thirty three people attended ranging in ages from 19 months to 60 plus.  The club would like to thank all those who participated.  The winners in the male category were Trevor Butler, a senior track team member taking first place, second went to Mr. Over, high school social studies teacher, and Heath Moore, third, a junior on the track team.  The female category went to our own Mrs. Detwiler, Family Consumer Science and Math instructor, first place and second went to Savanna Hershberger of Hickory Bottom Road, and Heather Speacht of Williamsburg.

The proceeds from the 5K benefit the Careers in Health Club.  The club members attend a yearly field trip to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh to observe open heart surgery.  Thanks again for supporting the club.

  • SCHOOL DELAYS, CLOSINGS AND NOTIFICATIONS……

Please be reminded that the Williamsburg Community School District will be utilizing the One Call Now communication system to notify families of school delays and closings.  The communication system will also be used to notify families of other notifications including emergencies and attendance.  Notifications will be sent to the phone numbers you have registered with One Call Now from the information that was sent home at the beginning of the year.  If you did not register any phone numbers, a notification will be sent to the primary phone number on file.  It is extremely important to notify either the elementary or high school office any time you have a change in phone number.  If you did not register any phone numbers with One Call Now and would like to, please call the school office.

Also, if you choose, you can receive text alerts in addition to phone calls.  If you would like to receive text alerts, simply text “alert” to the number 22300.  Once initiated, you will receive a text message reply from One Call Now.  It may state, “message and data rates may apply.”  If you have unlimited text messaging on your cellular plan, this should not apply.  If you have limited text messaging, rates may apply.  Please verify with your cellular plan carrier before setting up text alerts.

One Call Now notifications will come from the school’s phone number, 832-2125.  If you do not answer the call, the notification will go to voicemail.

A test notification call was made on Thursday, November 17th.  If you did not receive a test call, please notify the school office.  Test calls will continue over the next week to ensure families are receiving notifications.
